Matt Gottshalk, principal of McGee Digital Media, is a skilled Director of Photography and Editor who specializes in cinema-style HD production and post. He began shooting with 16mm film & BetaSP, and currently shoots on the Panasonic DVCPro HD P2 system of cameras.

He has shot a wide variety of productions, from an HD spot on indigenous frogs in the jungles of Panama, to the Emeril Green show for the Discovery Green Channel. He is well-known for his film-style lighting in field production and studio shoots.

Matt also has 20 years of experience and expertise in motion graphic design and editing on both Avid and Final Cut Pro. Some of his post-production projects include designing motion graphics for the Baltimore Ravens 100’-wide endzone screens, editing an award-winning marketing campaign for Bayer AG, and posting a dynamic music video that he also DP'd.

Matt has worked on projects for a wide range of clients, from independent producers, political campaigns, and not-for-profit trade associations, to public relations firms and international corporations. Among his clients are the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Paul Berry and Associates, Discovery Communications, the National Geographic Channel, Pfizer Inc., and the Air Line Pilots Association.

Matt likes to take ownership of every project. Using a collaborative approach, he succeeds in articulating his clients’ vision and message with his signature creativity. Clients rely on his in-depth knowledge of new technologies and applications to take their projects to the next level.

He is a member of the Television, Internet & Video Association of DC (TIVA-DC). He has won several Tellys and a Houston Film Fest Silver Award.
